Jeff,
Try Stymacks. Jason. The number is 360-507-6280. They did 2 Firewise projects for us (Marine View Dr and Standstill Rd).

The only thing negative I have heard about them is that the LOT owner didn't get a tree cutting permit before Stymacks cut their trees. The LCMC tree cutting permit is the responsibility of the lot owner. I also think this is when Stymacks was first doing business up here.

Kory and Forest (Northwest Tree) do very good work. The downside of that is that they can be very busy. :(

I just used Andy Brand, Highclimber Tree Service 360-490-9474, to wreck out some intertwined cedars and a dead cedar. Also, re-topped 3 douglas firs that were topped about 20 years ago. He had one guy helping him and they both climbed trees and cut away.

I chose to clean up everything myself (TBD) so I can't speak for their tightiness. But they kept everything on my lot as we agreed. Andy does this as a side business. Prior to using him, I verified this license, bond, and insurance with the state, bond holder, and insurance agent. Everything checked out. I was there when he did the work and everything was professional.

I also had Stymacks provide an estimate. Jason seemed very professional, but he was also twice as expensive.

The only drawback with Andy is that since this is his weekend job, he might have a long lead time for when he can do the work. He was quick to provide the estimate.

Jeff,
Thanks for the update and the tree guy info. Please make sure you fill out the "Firewise Timesheet" and turn it into the office (or mail to the PO Box on the form). Thanks :!:

I have a friend who will be taking down several trees. I've read all the Posts. On my list are: NWTS ( Kory & Forest ) and Holmes Tree Service. Does anyone have any other experience with a good tree Service Company.?

I have used NW Tree Service (Forrest & Kory) a lot and I cannot speak higher of them. They are professional. When they are done, their clean up is so extensive you wouldn't even know they were there. I have seen their work on many different lots in our community and everyone says the same thing, They are tops. I have no direct knowledge of any other tree cutter....................Bob

Looking for an updated referral for tree-cutting and pruning. Anyone have any positive recent experiences? We have a few leaning alders that need to come down and one tall fir we'd like to prune. Thanks.

Active cutters at Cushman - Stymacks, Jason at 360-507-6280, Northwest Tree and Holmes Tree Service. I have heard good things about all of these and as far as I know they are active in the area.

I have used Northwest Tree Service, Forest & Kory, many times and I consider then the best. When they are done they leave the site so clean you wouldn't even know they were there. You can get their phone # from the office.

I tried NW Tree Service first, but their voicemail box is full - not a good sign, in my experience! I've got Jeff Holmes coming to look at my project. He called me back the next day.

Just to follow up, Jeff Holmes of Holmes Tree Service did a very fine job on our tree cutting and trimming project. 360-490-5047. I will certainly call him again if the need arises.
